A Delicious Part of Traverse City History!
On May 8th, 1964 the original Doug Murdick’s Fudge Store was opened in the present location, 116 E. Front St. Downtown Traverse City, MI by Doug and Doris Murdick. Today they still are open at the original two locations: the landmark store with the huge box of fudge on the roof at 4500 U.S. 31 North along East Bay in Acme and the store in downtown Traverse City.
SEE IT MADE!
Cooked in a copper kettle to exact temperatures, our fudge is poured out on beautiful marble tables and cooled. It’s then worked with Paul Bunyan size tools, loaved, and sliced… Served fresh from the kettle to you. Visit us to see it made.

Originated in 1964 in Traverse City, Doug Murdick’s Fudge is owned and operated by Doug Murdick and his family. We’re not a franchise or connected with other fudge stores anywhere!
